Dave Kellerhals

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with over 10 years of experience providing mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. I have worked primarily in both the mobile crisis response/intervention and inpatient psychiatric setting. I completed a yearlong internship providing outpatient therapy to all ages in a community mental health setting during my graduate program and I am very excited about my return to the outpatient setting.

I have my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a Minor in Psychology and a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling, both from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois and also belong to the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). I have experience and knowledge working with individuals experiencing and coping with the following: depression, anxiety, bipolar related disorders, ADHD/ADD, life transitions and adjustments, relationship issues, trauma, substance abuse issues and psychotic disorders.

The therapeutic tools and approaches I use include the following: Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused (Brief) Therapy, and Person-Centered (Rogerian) Therapy.

My overall goal in therapy is to harness the strengths of my clients to foster growth in mind, body, and spirit. I believe if one can change the way they think, they can change the way they feel and behave which can ultimately change their world.
