I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and received my master’s degree in Human Development Counseling from the University of Illinois Springfield. While working in private practice, I also serve as a high school counselor. My background in the school setting has provided me with many opportunities to work with teens and young adults encountering a wide variety of struggles.
I feel most comfortable helping people address issues related to self-esteem, anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, and the school environment. Although I view therapy through a holistic lens, I feel most drawn to techniques from CBT, gestalt therapy, person-centered therapy, and narrative therapy. I believe in the importance of the here- and-now and the essential cultivation of empathy, authenticity, and trust in the therapeutic relationship. Ultimately, my objective as a therapist pertains to offering a healing, fully accepting space for individuals to process challenges they are facing.
