I am eclectic in therapeutic techniques. I individualize treatment according to my client’s comfort level and needs. I believe in the mind-body-spirit connection and utilize mindfulness approaches. I frequently rely on standard cognitive behavioral techniques and have the ability to implement dialectical behavior treatment plans. The development of a trusting, therapeutic relationship and offering a safe and healing environment are two of the most basic things I offer my clients. It’s these simple things that prove to be the most appreciated gift for women in treatment, and they also offer excellent groundwork when ongoing or intensive treatment is required.
I have obtained certification as a guided imagery therapist from Synergy Seminars in Palm Springs, California. When a client is open to using guided imagery, I am excited to utilize it for a variety of treatment issues. Guided imagery works well in promoting relaxation, managing stress, helping people to gain and maintain good health, aiding in the physical healing process, exploring the many inner parts of ones core self, facilitating the grieving process, resolving past trauma, and releasing the past. I am most passionate about using imagery to help people with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder as it is an excellent tool to help people resolve their issues without re-traumatizing clients by reliving their stories through traditional talk therapy.
