I am a Licensed Professional Counselor here in Central Illinois. I am accepting of all spiritualities, gender identities, and sexualities, including acceptance of polyamorous relationships and ACE individuals. I graduated with my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Eastern Illinois University. I enjoy an eclectic practice, working with adults, elders, and young children (3-12) on a variety of presenting problems: Depression, PTSD, Anxiety, Schizophrenia, Defiance (ODD), Anger and Panic Disorders, Family or Child relationship problems, eating disorders (including ARFID), and others. I have a natural ability to accept those that society may not understand, including clients who experience psychosis. I have additional training in suicide prevention and trauma-informed therapy modalities, as well as Equine Assisted Therapy, Sand-Tray Therapy, and Play Therapy.
I am a therapist who understands the messy parts of life. I strive to provide a safe environment for you to simply “be” so that you may discover and accept your whole self. I apply scientifically based therapeutic modalities depending upon your specific needs and comfortability during therapy; we will come up with a plan together! I also stay current with research into emerging therapies to best serve my clients. I currently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Mindfulness throughout my practice and may invite you to occasionally step out of your comfort zone. I know this can be difficult, which is why I am fiercely dedicated to confidentiality, your privacy, and respect for you as a human being.
As a client you can expect to feel accepted and respected in my office. I strive to hold a space for my clients to process the deepest of emotions and ultimately unravel the confusion that may have overcome them and stopped the ability to move forward. I am here to work together to improve your days and ultimately regain your quality of life.
