Erin Sturm

Erin

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience providing mental health treatment. During my graduate internship, I worked at a rape crisis center and was privileged to witness the resiliency and strength of those who have experienced significant traumas in their life. After receiving my master’s degree from Western Illinois University, I worked for 9 years at the local rape crisis center, which offered me valuable training in trauma and opportunities to grow in my clinical work.

I believe my clients are the best experts of their experiences and working with survivors of sexual violence reinforced my passion for empowering individuals to make positive change. I draw from trauma-informed and client-centered approaches, while using a variety of skills from strengths based, cognitive behavioral, and dialectical behavioral approaches. I have worked with clients who have experienced interpersonal abuse, but also individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and other life adjustments in which they need additional support.

I am comfortable working with clients of all ages, and I love empowering young people and adults to grow, develop insight, and become their best selves. Throughout my career, I have completed many trainings using trauma-informed care and have become certified in EMDR and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approaches. I look forward to continuing to meet and guide clients to realize their strengths and reach their goals.
